THE YOUNG INDIA FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The Young India Fellowship Program is a one year multidisciplinary post-graduate fellowship wherein young men and women who have an aim to lead India through 21st century are groomed by the professionals. In the fellowship program around 225 students from throughout the India come together to be part of the fully residential program. The fellows reside at Ashoka University campus which is located in the Delhi/NCR region. Ashoka university though it is a private university yet a nonprofit making university.


The candidates embark on their leadership journey by opening their mind to a rich and diverse set of subjects and perspectives, taught by some of the best educators in the world. The venture of Young India Fellowship is in collaboration with some of the Top-ranked international schools namely: like University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS); Carleton College; King’s College, London and Sciences Po, Paris.. Irrespective of disciplines and areas of study candidates are eligible to participate in YIF. No doubt you have pursued higher studies in Engineering design, commerce or literature you will be mentored into reaching their full potential.

A Young India Fellow could be someone who has:

  • A deep-rooted ambition to solve problems and make an impact on society.
  • Passion for an idea or issue which could have wider social/business/academic implications.
  • The humility to believe that he/she needs to learn more.
  • The willingness to think differently and chart a new course.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: All Indians are eligible to participate
  • Age: Maximum 28 years
  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates who are pursuing final year of their undergraduate and postgraduate program from a recognized Institution of India irrespective of the discipline can apply.

In case you after completing the education, the candidate has started working and has not yet completed three years then too you can apply.

Cost and Scholarship

  • The average cost incurred on each fellow is somewhere around INR 6 lacs  and every student is sponsored fully or partially as the case may be.
  • The tuition expenses arising out of the lectures and workshops delivered by the best teachers and experts from around the world.
  • The expenses of boarding and lodging
  • Cost of books, reading and case materials, library subscriptions and purchase of text books
  • Fellows will get a Lifetime access to network of mentor’s, sponsors and peers.

  • Preference will be given at the time of applying for Masters degree or Ph.D at UPenn & to pursue any Masters level course at Ashoka University in the future.
